Laminating / Heat Sealing
Finishing artwork with heat-activated films is often referred to as heat sealing. Because many people never consider the true benefits of heat seal lamination, it is often overlooked as a method of protecting and enhancing artwork. The surface guards artwork against fingerprints, moisture, UV light, smudges, abrasion, ozone exposure and cigarette smoke. In high humidity or moist areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and around swimming pools, laminating films are preferred to glass due to the probability of condensation behind glass-protected pieces. All our heat seal laminates incorporate UV absorbers and UV stabilisers into the formulation which prevents film degradation and image face. There are a variety of heat seal surface finishes and textures available.Heat sealing the surface can also deepen and brighten the colours of the artwork as well as reduce glare under challenging lighting conditions. Where safety is a factor, especially in shopping centres, airports, schools, retirement homes, children’s rooms, hospitals and other public places, heat sealing the surface is superior to glass; especially with oversized artworks.

Artwork Packaging
Do you need your artwork packed to send in the post? We bubblewrap and strap artworks between MDF. This method helps facilitate a safe journey to the receiver and minimise any damage in transit.
